28 children from Coniston Primary School took part in two workshops exploring sustainability and future food production.. Working with artist Mike Chavez-Dawson and Brantwood chef Simon Boden, the children will developed a series of snacks and canapés based on, and inspired by, the exhibition Design for Life.
The canapés were served at the public forum on Saturday 14 May and a selection of the recipes will be included in a recipe book and on the Brantwood restaurant menu.
Quote from Coniston Primary School:
It was a fabulous project and the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part. It really incorporated such a wide range of skills which is probably why it engaged them all so effectively, and it was a good way to see how art can incorporate so many different aspects. We really appreciate opportunities like this as we are such a long distance from the things on offer in city areas.
